The Web Team

The webteam is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Compsoc Website. They are also responsible for managing all the content of the site.

Webteam History

During the Summer of 2003, the Webteam decided that a fresh start was required. While the previous website had served the society well, it was time to replace it with a brand new, more up to date, user friendly and fully featured website. The decision was made to migrate to Object Oriented PHP and to build the site from the ground up replacing the old source code with well designed, tested and commented code. The website spent a year in development and was launched on in September 2004.

Rory Donohue (roryd)

Rory is experienced in web design and development. He has worked for professional web development companies and has also designed and developed contract websites. He is in his 4th (and final!) year of B.Sc Information Technology. Rory has also worked for HEAnet - Ireland's Education and Research Network.

This Glenamaddy man's musical taste has been the subject of question many times in the past and prides himself on his dance music collection. His hobbies include Tae Kwon Do, Piano, and somehow getting spare time to read (yet more) computer books and magazines on linux, networking and web design. His life's ambition is to someday listen to his entire mp3 collection.

Darragh Bailey (felix)

Darragh is also one of the lucky few Compsoc members to spend life in the Real World. True to his engineering background, Darragh is a regular in many Galway pubs. When he's not reading ILUG, or working, or messing with linux, or doing his webteam duties, you might be lucky enough to meet this fearful tower of knowledge from Barna in, yes you guessed it, yet more Galway pubs.

Shane Duffy (moe)

Shane has worked for several professional companies, both developing and designing websites and their supporting backend systems, he has also worked on numerous contract websites and software packages.
