Storage

Where do all those files get stored, I hear you ask. Fault tolerant, disk storage is very important to Compsoc. We store a lot of data and as such like to have good equipment.

Eurologic XL400 Fiber Channel Array

Compsoc's primary storage medium is an Eurologic XL400 Fiber Channel Disk Array. This array is currently maxed out with seven 36Gb 15Krpm Fiber Channel Disks. This allows us to use a RAID5 storage configuration giving 216Gb of storage and protecting against data loss should a drive failure occur.

Sun D1000 SCSI Array

Also in our storage arsenal is a Sun D1000 SCSI Disk Array. Currently acting as a secondary storage medium this array can contain up to 12 36Gb SCSI disks. Again these can be put in a RAID5 configuration giving excellent space and protection.
