Previous Years

Best Website - NUI, Galway Socs Awards 2003

Compsoc was nominated for a number of awards and won Best Website for this site's predecessor. This allowed us to go forward to represent NUI, Galway at the BICS' Awards where we narrowly lost out.

Best New or Most Improved Society, NUI, Galway 2002

The Best New or Most Improved Society award is adjudicated by the University Societies Committee. It is awarded to reward societies who make dramatic improvements over the course of an academic year. It is one of the most tightly contested awards. Again we represented NUI, Galway at the BICS' Awards and narrowly missed out on a National Accolade.

Special Award, SUIA 2002

The award was 1 of 8 Special Awards given to 3rd level entrants to the Schools and Universities Internet Awards (SUIA) who use the medium of the Internet to communicate their subject's central idea. Over 192 websites from 3rd level institutions were entered.

The judging criteria was relevant and original content, ease of navigation and consistency of navigation through the site, the resource value for other students, its look & feel, design, appropriate use of images, colour and accessibility.
